Coronavirus cases in Cheshire increasing day by day according to latest figures

Cases of coronavirus are increasing day by day across Cheshire.

In just four days the number of positive cases of Covid-19 confirmed in our region has gone up by 21.

While this figure is relatively low compared to other areas such as Greater Manchester, it still shows that the virus is not going anywhere just yet.

On Wednesday (July 28) we reported that the county had a total of 6,305 cases of coronavirus since the start of the pandemic.

That figure has now increased to 6,326 cases according to latest figures published by Public Health England today (August 1).

In Cheshire West and Chester there are now 2,046 coronavirus cases, a jump of 15 since Wednesday.

Cheshire East has a total of 2,241 cases compared with 2,232 cases on Wednesday.

Warrington has just had one new coronavirus case since Wednesday, with their total standing at 1,343 cases.

Halton has had two new cases this week, their figure totals 702 since the start of the pandemic.

The North West remains the region which has the highest number of coronavirus cases across England, with 46,105 cases.

The total number of coronavirus cases in England currently stands at 261,348.

It comes as the number of patient deaths in hospitals across Cheshire remains at 722.

All four NHS trusts recorded no new coronavirus deaths overnight.
